Merry Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Merry Christmas from everyone here at Miss Clue!

Stay tuned for the exciting upcoming announcement of Christmas at Donner’s Pass, you won’t want to miss it!

In the meantime, Jane Darcy would love to share one of her Aunt Ellen’s recipes with us all here on Miss Clue, just in time for Christmas!

Vanishing Chocolate Cookies

  • 1 cup Softened Butter
  • 3/4 cup White Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Cocoa
  • 1 TSP Baking Soda
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Blend the butter, white sugar and brown sugar together.  Add the eggs, one at a time, and finish with the Vanilla Extract.

Add the Flour, Baking Soda, Powdered Cocoa and Baking Soda on top of the mixture.  Mix lightly before blending thoroughly into the dough.

Fold in the Chocolate Chips, adding extra four if it’s needed to stiffen the dough.

Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.  Bake in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.  Remove cookies immediately from baking sheets, and place on plates or a wire rack to cool completely.

Cookies can be frosted, or eaten plain!

Merry Christmas!
